Thyroid cancer

Thyroid cancer is a rare type of cancer and compared to other organs, it is considered to have better outcomes when detected and treated earlier.

In 80% of cases, it is a papillary type of cancer which is usually non aggressive and has a slow growth rate.

For the diagnosis of thyroid cancer, a procedure called fine needle aspiration biopsy is needed.

There are different methods of treatment for thyroid cancer including surgical, hormone therapy, radio iodine therapy, chemotherapy, as well as ablation technique for low risk papillary microcarcinomas.
